Movie Meme

Others have done a movie meme so i decided to give it a try. If for no other reason than to try to remember what films i have enjoyed over the years. Defining 10 favorites would be too hard for me. I'd feel bad for the movies i forgot.

Here's the rules of the movie quote meme.

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them on your blog for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. Looking them up is cheating, please don’t.

1)
L: I have to go. They trust me.
E: Why should they, when you deceived everyone, including yourself?

2)
W: You fool. No man can kill me. Die now.
E: I am no man.
- LOTR #3 - The Return of the King - Mary P got this one

3)
Walking around like regular people. They don't see each other. They only see what they want to see. They don't know they're dead. - The Sixth Sense - Lori got this one

4)
I just found out, that a girl got killed here last week, and you knew it! You knew there was a shark out there! You knew it was dangerous! But you let people go swimming anyway? You knew all those things! But still my boy is dead now. And there's nothing you can do about it. My boy is dead. I wanted you to know that.

5)
I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft! - Ghostbusters - Mary P got this one

6)
E: You must change or you will catch a cold.
M: What care I for colds when there is such a man.
E: You will care very much when your nose swells up.
M: You are right. Help me

7)
Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. - Monty Python and the Holy Grail

8)
You Americans, you're all the same. Always overdressing for the wrong occasions.

9)
Careful, Jane. I can push the button any time I like.
Jane: Baby, you couldn't find the button with both hands and a map.

10)
Mom: Where are you going with those fireworks?
B: Well, the Protector got super-accelerated coming out of the black hole, and it, like, nailed the atmosphere at Mach 15, which, you guys know, is pretty unstable, obviously, so we're gonna help Laredo guide it on the vox ultra-frequency carrier and use Roman candles for visual confirmation.
Mom: Uh, all right, dinner's at seven.
[B exits. Mom turns to a dubious Dad]
Mom: Well, he's outside.
- Galaxy Quest - Mary P got this right

Ode to SimTower

SimTower - oh how i loved this game. Pre-kids i wasted far too much time on it. Creating my elevators, hotel rooms and business offices. Watching the maids clean and sometimes a *gasp* call-girl would visit the hotel rooms. It was greatness.

I read it might come out for the DS this summer. If so - I'm THERE

Easter, St Pats, Birthdays, Anniversarys, Spring Break - all in 1 week

We've been busy! First we had Kristen's 8th birthday, and on the same evening we had Phillip's parent's 50th Anniversary party. It was a lot of fun, but curse the free flowing bar and my tendency to be a chatty lush. *sigh*

Then we had Spring break which included St Patricks Day and Good Friday. Whew! The kids got to go to Grandma's, Gabbys, and had sleep overs at other kids houses as well as our own. Exhausting!!

Then the weekend came with the Easter festivities of dying eggs, a visit from the Easter Bunny and a very nice Brunch with family. Delicious!!

Not to mention, spring has sprung and the weather is improving. Yeah!

I need a nap!

March Snow in Texas

The weather around here has always been crazy. I remember the old saying "if you don't like the weather in Texas, wait a minute". Which couldn't be more true last week. On Sunday we were in shorts, by Monday - there was SNOW. On Tuesday it was back in the 70's. By Thursday HUGE amounts of snow. BIZARRE. But, the kids had a blast, with what little we had. Since the weather had been so warm, it melted pretty much as soon as it hit. By Friday the streets were clear and all back at school - RATS!

Finger Knitting

I learned how to crochet in Elementary School, and after many, many false starts, i think i am finally getting the hang of Knitting. I really, really wanted to learn how to knit.

I also wanted to find a way to get my girls interested, but they resisted. They tried the loom for a bit, but became frustrated. Then I happened upon this on YouTube - two girls not much older than my own finger knitting. My Oldest daughter watched it twice, and started finger knitting like crazy. She showed her little sister and at least 4 girls in her class at school. She came home telling me they've formed a "finger knitting club", and has shown people on the bus how to do it. She is worse about her stash of yarn than any full blown knitter I have seen, and now i can get her to go to the store if i promise her a ball of string ( she prefers the cotton Peaches and Cream ) Too funny.

Anyhow, if you have kids - this worked better than i ever expected

My first Blogger Post

Well, I've posted off and on for a while on LiveJournal (well - more off), but I always wanted to try out the blogger (i've been envious of others ability to link, and i just couldn't figure out how to get that done on LiveJournal)

So, here is my new site. Perhaps I'll be a better blogger. heh
