Maybe we all just need some Oinkment

So we are under a swine flu pandemic. Or so i'm told. I haven't seen it, and there is a school within a few miles of me that is shut down over ONE CASE. 1. Uno.

Back in March, when K1 had the flu - 10 kids out of a class of 18 were out. Over 50%. Did they close the school? Nope. Did they cancel anything? Nope. She tested positive for "type A" which is the same thing the swine flu kids are testing positive for now. Did she have it back then but the CDC wasn't involved? How would i know? I just know they sent us home with "rest, advil and fluids" and "tamiflu side effects are almost as bad as just having the flu - so you might not want it" (we didn't fill the prescription, and no one else in the family got it - we used lots of hand washing and sanitizer - this apparently works)

Now tamilfu is flying off the shelfs. Hmm, kind of makes you wonder - if you happen to be the type that wore a little tin foiled hat around - mine is shiny.

The school showed the girls this cartoon, they came home singing like germs.

Donald Rumsfeld must still have friends in the CDC -- so he can get his product promoted.

I put the dull side of the foil up on my hat. It's not as shiny.

Great computer graphics in that video - it's not old at all. The kids these days love Huey Lewis. And I kind of like the germs. They seem so cute and friendly in that video. If they changed the scary music to more upbeat and happy music and made the germs a little different color, the video could be pro-germ instead of anti-germ. Kind of like politics today.

The girls though the germs were "totally cute" - and i cringe at the thought of what they will do to the next batch of chocolate donuts we get...
